Mark Matthews
The Embedded Reporter Award
Mark Matthews's TV reporting on the plight of the Coronado Belt Line has been thorough and truly investigative. He has helped to bring the issue to the public's attention. Once he was on the case, he went on to expose the political games that exist in various public offices. Mark was also able to make this complex issue clear. His efforts to shed light on preservation topics have helped keep local citizens well-informed. So much of preservation is about getting information out to the community so that public debate can occur. Mark deserves our praise for his determined effort to make us aware of the potential loss of a hidden and long forgotten piece of our history.
