Virtual Consultation
This virtual meeting offers the ability to meet with SOHO experts virtually right from your own home. With two options, 30-minutes and 1+ hour(s), the virtual meeting provides a flexible, contact-freeway to meet with SOHO experts to review your newest restoration project, answer designation and Mills Act questions, and more. In contrast to the full-home investigation of our in-person option, these shorter meetings permit more specialized advice on specific projects for seasoned historic homeowners or provide a general overview and introduction to the ins and outs of owning a historic home. Whatever you are looking for, our SOHO experts are ready to work with you to achieve your historic home or projects goals.
Virtual consultations will be conducted via Zoom. Once an inquiry has been made, a SOHO staff member will reach out via email to schedule the consultation and provide a direct Zoom link to the virtual meeting. The homeowner is asked to upload all important documents they may have, such as historic and modern photographs, and site plans and elevations, for SOHO experts to review prior to the meeting. Attendees are also asked to prepare as many questions as they may have in advance to get the greatest amount of work accomplished in the time allotted.
The team will suggest resources, and other professionals and trades people as needed to suit your potential project or home care needs.
30-Minutes / $35 / Free for SOHO members
- Basic inquiries and project recommendations: solar panel placement, facade review for designation, "Is my house historic?", virtual walkthrough of specific room/area, historic designation/process at local/state/federal levels.
1+ Hour(s) / $75 per hour
- Complex inquiries and project recommendations: review additions, interior remodels, restoration, development plans for Secretary of the Interior's Standards consistency, evaluate restoration plans, more in-depth exploration and/or investigation.
