Volunteer ProfileMichelle Hamilton Michelle Hamilton joined SOHO as a volunteer docent at the Whaley House last summer and has continued on every Sunday since, she was the first to join our junior docent program. Michelle has always loved history and plans on a degree in History. She just graduated from Monte Vista High School where she was awarded scholarship funds from the local chapter of the Spring Valley Rotary Club. Requirements included not only a GPA of 3.0 or above, but also volunteer hours supporting her chosen area of interest, listing her hours and projects worked on with SOHO and the San Diego Historical Society. Michelle's love of the Whaley House brought the added bonus of her mother Lynn who is now a head docent on Sundays in charge of the Junior program. Michelle is an avid researcher and plans to write a book with Lynn on the Whaley House. |
