Stenocarpus sinuatus
FIREWHEEL TREE
Solanaceae family
Tropical east central Australia
Native to warm moist climates of Queensland Australia these showy trees can reach heights of 60 feet and take on a conical shape having brilliant fall foliage. Of most interest are the flowers. They mature to round wheel-like shapes with red, orange, or yellow balls at the ends, looking very much like a wheel of fire.
