Beautiful purple calyces line the stems that protrude from the main evergreen shrub starting in summer. The Salvia leucantha is native to a large geographic area from east central Mexico southward into Central America. Mexican Sage will grow in most frost-free areas but it prefers full sun and moderately most soil.
