Romneya coulteri

Papaveraceae family
S CA/N Baja coastal ranges westward
Native to California, usually coastal ranges and westward, this showy plant can reach heights of 8 feet and produces a large white papery flower with an egg-yolk colored center. The coulteri epithet referees to Irish botanist and explorer of the South West United States, Thomas Coulteri (1793-1843).
