With fibrous and fissured bark, Eucalyptus nicholii is considered a small to medium sized tree which flowers in late summer or early autumn and displays a weeping leaf structure as it matures. It has a very limited native range in northern New South Wales west of the Great Dividing Range. These trees are widely planted throughout Australia and California.
