Eucalyptus melliodora
YELLOW BOX
Myrtaceae family
SE Australia
Common on the western slopes of Australia's Great Dividing Range, Eucalyptus melliodora is endemic mostly to eastern Queensland and Victoria in eastern Australia. Growing to 25 feet in height, it typically grows in the foothills near water sources. The timber of the Eucalyptus melliodora is considered heavy, hard, and strong, and has been used for heavy construction projects such as bridges, railway sleepers, and fencing. It is also one of Australia's best honey producing trees, as the bees tend to produce an especially delicious and golden colored honey.
