This interesting mallee can grow to 25 feet, has smooth grey or brown bark and has unique flower buds. A "mallee" is defined as a small tree with multiple stocks with the canopy at the top. Eucalyptus eremophila produces long finger like buds followed by yellow, sometimes red flowers. Its eremophila epithet means "desert loving." It is native to the dry southwest region of Western Australia. First described by German botanist Ludwig Diels in 1904.
