Eriogonum fasciculatum has been used medicinally by the Native Americans of the Southwest United States and northwest Mexico regions traditionally for headaches, diarrhea and for wounds. For example, the Zuni Indians have used the powdered root to treat arrow and bullet lacerations. This dense bush can grow to a maximum height of 6 feet and cover a 9 foot area. Its white to pink flowers occur in spring and attract bees and butterflies and is an important part of the local ecosystem. By summer and fall the flowers turn to a rust color and remain until the following spring.
