Crassula ovata
JADE
Crassulaceae family
SE South Africa
Perhaps one of the most common house plants in the world the Crassula ovata is easily maintained and propagated. It has fleshy thick leaves that retain water superbly. The green leaves may turn yellow or red if exposed to prolong and direct sunlight. This allows the plant to protect itself from harsh sunlight conditions. In its native South Africa, Crassula ovata can obtain heights of 6 feet. Presidio Park has hundreds of Crassula ovata stands growing unassisted and undisturbed.
