Aeonium haworthii
PINWHEEL
Crassulaceae family
Canary Islands
A Canary Island native this succulent does well in similar Mediterranean climates such as Southern California. Possibly introduced to Southern California in the late 1880s this species is not considered invasive. Its bluish-green leaves are arranged in a pinwheel fashion, thus its common name. The pinwheel gives off white cream-colored flowers in late spring. It has a long life and can often be found in older gardens. Only two have been found in Presidio Park.
