Endemic to a small geographic region in extreme Southwest Australia in the Perth and Albany areas, the blue leafed wattle has been exported to warmer climates around the world. It can be found in bush form or growing as a standalone tree in older specimens. It develops into an umbrella like canopy and produces small round yellow flowers in spring. Mentioned by Percy Broell in 1937 this species has represented Western Australia since the 1930s.
