This Australian acacia is thornless, as are most. Interestingly they can live 200-300 years. They are capable of flowering several times throughout the year. The wood is considered hard and very useful for building fences and is used for firewood. The Aboriginals of Australia utilized the mulga for various purposes including digging sticks and woomeras, a spear-throwing device.
