Gift to the Street
In 2004, the University Heights Historical Society notified the City about the critical condition of the historically designated house, known as the "Log Cabin House." Built in 1908, the house was abandoned, deteriorating, and suffering from vandalism. In all of San Diego, there are no houses that compare to this Arts & Crafts Rustic style, two-story home with a recessed front porch and log-faced first level façade. Rescued from near ruin after a journey of almost 10 years, this was a tough project with preservation standards as their guide. The spirit and character-defining features are again intact.
