Advocacy Legal Defense Fund
Protect San Diego's Historic Resources!
The Advocacy Legal Defense Fund specifically funds our advocacy work. It allows our advocacy staff to protect the historic places throughout the San Diego region you love.
When you donate to the defense fund, you become an advocate for the protection and preservation of our tangible history. When you support SOHO in this way you are helping to ensure we are ready to take on the most important preservation battles.
Through advocacy, public education, and litigation SOHO takes on new issues as they arise and also defends the gains and protections won over the past 50 years.
This fund goes beyond membership dues to make our work possible. Donations to the legal fund enable us to take direct action and mobilize support to preserve San Diego's historic and culturally significant places without hesitation.
Our advocacy work takes significant time and resources, and we need your help. Preservation issues can take months, even years, of continuous advocacy.
Donations to the fund allow our advocacy staff to organize the community and attend public meetings, like the over 100 public and private meetings we attended in just the first two years of the ten-year Balboa Park/Plaza de Panama battle. It also allows them to attend public meetings, and offer technical assistance to individuals, as well as communities and institutions throughout the county.
