Seventh Avenue, 1903
George bought ten acres of Crittenden's Addition for his extended family's estates, keeping five for his own home. Within two decades, this subdivision was transformed into a fine collection of thoughtfully landscaped Arts and Crafts houses created for family and friends. The block represents an important slice of San Diego's architectural history, with the strong imprint of architect Irving J. Gill.
The house on the left is the Alice Lee/Katherine Teats House at 3574 Seventh Avenue. Built in 1905, it was designed by Hebbard & Gill, with Hazel Waterman.
