Marston's Tea Room
Added in April of 1955, the 190-seat tea room was the first sit-down serviced food offering at Marston's, and was designed by architect Sam Hamill. Brother-in-law Gordon Petit, as Marston's vice president, oversaw the tearoom construction.
A successful addition to the shopping experience, it became very popular with lunch and dinner hours, and known for its good food, not only as an elegant place to eat. Marston's won a 1960 American Restaurant Magazine contest for the best sandwich, the Pacific Paragon. Click HERE for the recipe.
