The Marston Company
Full page supplement in the San Diego Union, advertising the newly opened store in 1912. Note the great variety of rooms. Marston hired architects Mead & Requa to design a "Children's Corner" play area for his new department store illustrated here, bottom right as a basement room. This must have gone well, as he commissioned the firm again seven years later in 1919 for a pattern hat room and a drapery room.
