End of Year Appeal
Dear Members, Friends, and Activists,
SOHO will reach a major milestone this coming year when we celebrate our 50th anniversary. Over five decades, with your support, SOHO has been a respected force for historic preservation in San Diego County, while also earning recognition throughout California and beyond for being highly effective at saving, preserving, and interpreting resources.
The trust that you have long shown through your financial donations has allowed us to flourish and accomplish feats that our founders, who laid the bedrock for our success in 1969, likely could not have conceived—from saving some of San Diego's most significant buildings to managing a sizable staff and operating multiple historic house museums and other popular sites. As we celebrate and reflect upon SOHO's successful first 50 years, please consider what the work we've accomplished together has meant to you, and make your annual contribution to the 2018 End of Year Campaign.
As a non-profit, SOHO's ongoing track record of success depends on the financial contributions of generous people like you who share the same core values. SOHO supporters believe that historic buildings, sites, and cultural landscapes matter to the overall well-being of our society. You know that preserving a region's architectural and cultural heritage provides innumerable benefits, from the personal to the educational and economic, and that protecting and maintaining significant, irreplaceable landmarks is imperative for the enjoyment and enlightenment of future generations. Donors can also assume that when a significant resource is threatened, SOHO will respond vigorously and search for a positive outcome.
Through careful management and thoughtful decision making, SOHO's leadership and staff has steered the organization to new heights while earning the respect and trust of a broad community. In recent years, with your help, SOHO has waged several critical preservation battles over some of San Diego's most significant and iconic places, and buildings, such as Balboa Park, and the California Theatre. During these challenging times, your ongoing donations have helped shore up SOHO's essential reserves, allowing us to remain sharply focused on our mission.
As new development continues to put an increasing number of our region's historic resources at risk, we ask that you help sustain SOHO with the financial resources we need to continue our important work. Nobody does preservation better, and your donation is crucial to keeping SOHO successful.
Please make a contribution to our End of Year Campaign today, and with your help, we can look forward to continued success for the next half century. To give now, click HERE.
Your financial support is vital to our work.
With deepest gratitude,
Bruce Coons, Executive Director
