Defend Trestles and San Onofre State Beach
September/October 2017
A proposed toll road is once again threatening some of last remaining open space of Orange and San Diego counties, habitats of eleven threatened and endangered species, Native American archaeological sites and the world-famous Trestles Beach surf spot and other significant historic resources. The highway would cover over 300 of the park's 2,000 acres in pavement.
Surfrider Foundation has been at the forefront of this 15-year battle, along with the public and SOHO members who wrote letters, made calls, and attended the hearings. Read the article
Toll Road in our 2008 Our Heritage magazine for more background on the historic site.
We are asking again for your help to Save Trestles by signing Surfriders petition now to show your support for San Onofre State Beach and your opposition to the attempts to reverse the hard fought permanent protection of Trestles and the state park.
