On August 1, the San Diego City Council confirmed two new members to the Historical Resources Board (HRB), Andrew Bowen and Charlie Colvin. With support from the preservation community, these appointments were approved on the consent agenda and the HRB now has a full complement of members!
Bowen, principal architect at KPA Associates, has served for several years on the Preservation Committee of the San Diego chapter of the American Institute of Architects. In 2015, he helped prepare for the annual California Preservation Foundation conference, which was held in San Diego. In addition to preservation architecture, Bowen's experience with architectural forensic investigation, building and land development codes, and general construction will be valuable to the board's deliberations.
Colvin, principal at BWE, is a structural engineer with a diverse portfolio in various structural challenges and seismic retrofits for military, commercial, civic, and residential projects, several including historical resources or components. He is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association and the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute. Colvin brings an important perspective to the board.
Thank you, Andrew Bowen and Charlie Colvin, for your commitment to preservation and willingness to serve on the HRB!
