Join SOHO for a free Zoom event and enlightening hour of conversation as architectural historian and preservationist Diane Kane delves into the City of San Diego's recently launched initiative to update its historic preservation program.

Marketed as part of "Blueprint San Diego," a refresh of the City's general plan, this effort involves multiple actors with diverse perspectives. Diane's talk, sponsored by SOHO, aims to provide facts and context about what's involved in the current efforts to revamp the preservation program.

Diane will explore the various perspectives involved, addressing crucial questions such as:

  • Why is this reform occurring now?
  • What implications does it hold for property owners, developers, housing affordability, and the overall livability of San Diego?

SOHO encourages anyone with an interest in San Diego's heritage, historic architecture, urban planning, and sustainable development to attend online and engage in meaningful discussion. A dynamic speaker and educator, Diane will answer questions from participants.
