On June 5, 2021, People Assisting The Homeless (PATH) held its fourth annual Making It Home Tour, which featured the Marston House Museum and Gardens. The tour asked the question What Does Home Mean to You?, and offered a guided virtual journey through homes of PATH residents and supporters to raise funds to support their mission of ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities.

PATH is a statewide advocacy organization that connects people to permanent housing and supports them through case management, medical and mental healthcare, employment training, and more. Since 2013, the organization has facilitated permanent homes for more than 9,000 people.

The tour begins with a look at architect Jeff Shelton's Stone Tower house in Santa Barbara, followed by Frank Lloyd Wright Jr.'s Warwick Evans Home in Brentwood, and an industrial, ranch-style home in San Juan Capistrano, and ends with the Marston House in Balboa Park. Interspersed between the showcasing of these architectural marvels is a closer look at some of PATH's housing facilities and communities that support individuals and families in need. Included is Zephyr, a Permanent Supportive Housing community in San Diego that offers single apartments for homeless veterans.

The recorded event can be found online at the PATH website. SOHO's Bobbie Bagel provides the Marston House narration that guides the viewer through the home, discussing how the family used it and highlighting significant architectural details.

SOHO is very grateful to be a part of this event and to support PATH for all the great work that they do in San Diego and beyond.
