Happy National Preservation Month!

Since 1973, preservationists nationwide have designated the month of May as a time to amplify public awareness of the social, environmental, and economic advantages of preservation efforts. SOHO engages in this work all year long, but we always look forward to the national focus May brings to share our important mission as a regional preservation resource.
You and I know that historic preservation can be a powerful tool to address numerous challenges we face in San Diego. But how do we increase the greater public’s awareness of the shared benefits of preservation?
One example is the eNews you are reading now. With every issue of Our Heritage eNews, our writers and editorial team maintain high standards to bring you substantive, informative, and useful stories, all with the goal to advance historic preservation.
Ultimately, we cannot effectively advance our message without you. We need allies to join us in spreading the many benefits of and the vital need for historic and cultural preservation in San Diego.
Are you interested in learning more about how you can help us do this? Visit SOHOsandiego.org, SOHO's website, and you will find outstanding resources, essential information, and multiple advocacy strategies. We also hope you will consider becoming a SOHO member and/or donor, if you're not already. And we suggest you share on social media the articles and information that speak to you.
