Fashion To a Tea, our garden party originally planned for June 7, is now indefinitely postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Here is a taste of what you can look forward to when the program is rescheduled.
Count on gathering in the Marston House formal garden for a delicious, three-course tea complete with fancy finger sandwiches and the famous coconut cream pie made from the Marston Tea Room's original recipe.
A stylish fashion show curated by Cat Frasier will feature original designs of the 1920s. Cat, who is a vintage fashion stylist and accomplished dressmaker, will hand sew some of the intricate costumes herself.
A highlight of the show will be the suffragette outfit complete with a bold purple, white, and gold sash, the symbolic colors of the suffragist movement. We intend to honor the centennial of the passage of the 19th amendment in 1920.
Diana Cavagnaro, the show's narrator, is a renowned couture milliner and fashion columnist for the San Diego Downtown News and La Jolla Village News.
Stay tuned for the new date! You won't want to miss Fashion To a Tea.
