It's May, celebrate National Preservation Month!
Give a high-five to preservationists everywhere during National Preservation Month. Why not visit, or revisit, SOHO's six museums and historic sites? When was the last time you strolled through Old Town to tour the Whaley House Museum, where restoration is underway? (Please see details in the eNews item, Whaley House Museum and SOHO Offices Remain Open During Restoration) Have you and a companion headed for the Adobe Chapel to catch an (engaging, fun or both) silent movie on a Sunday? An afternoon at the Marston House Museum & Gardens is both illuminating when you see how a leading San Diego family lived and soothing if you take in the sweeping gardens and shaded grounds, where you just might encounter a plein air painting show. You might also take a refreshing day trip to Santa Ysabel to shop at the unique Santa Ysabel Store and The Feed Store - Antiques & Such, then drive a few miles more to visit Warner-Carrillo Ranch House in nearby Warner Springs.
Check out #PreservationMonth. And don't be shy: Tweet about a SOHO treasure or two.
