SOHO Celebrates 10th Anniversary OH! San Diego
March/April 2025
Join SOHO and other groups at various sites on Saturday, March 8, 2025 to mark a decade of OH! San Diego tours of the city's impressive array of historic and contemporary architecture. As a founding participant in OH! (for Open House) San Diego’s inaugural year in 2015, we are excited to commemorate this milestone.
To mark the occasion, SOHO is offering two special guided tours free of charge only on March 8, 2025. That day is devoted to exploring architecture in Bankers Hill, Barrio Logan, Point Loma, National City, and San Ysidro. On March 9, tours will be held in Little Italy, East Village, Mission Hills, La Jolla Village, and UC San Diego.
Both of SOHO’s walking tours highlight the residential designs of Irving J. Gill, San Diego’s renowned early Modernist architect, and of his contemporaries.
Attendance for SOHO’s tours and others in the OH! San Diego program is limited, so be sure to register in advance.
Check in for both tours at the Marston House Museum Shop

Hebbard & Gill’s work shaped San Diego’s early architecture, seen in these two homes. The 1906 Cossitt House (left) reflects Prairie Style influences and modernist tendencies, while an original 1905 elevation drawing of the Marston House (right) showcases its Arts and Crafts design. Explore the architectural significance of these and more on SOHO’s Architectural Details tour during OH! San Diego. |
Organized by the San Diego Architectural Foundation and founded in 2015, OH! San Diego focuses on design excellence, sustainability, and cultural significance, offering a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes of the city’s most iconic, historic, and cutting-edge spaces. As part of Open House Worldwide, this annual event connects San Diego with global cities like London, New York, and Chicago, highlighting architecture’s key role in shaping communities and inviting participants to reflect on how the built environment portrays our past, present, and future.
