SOHO reached out to the 2024 mayoral and city council candidates of San Diego, inviting them to address crucial questions pertaining to the protection, preservation, and sustainable revitalization of our city's rich historical buildings, sites, landscapes, and cultural heritage. We appreciate the efforts of the five candidates who took the initiative to engage directly with San Diego's historic preservation community.

Recognizing the demanding nature of the campaign period and the multitude of inquiries candidates receive from various organizations, we are still disappointed by the lack of response from incumbents and those running unopposed. This absence of engagement speaks volumes, particularly considering SOHO's extensive and actively involved voting membership.
