Penning the Past
Insights into San Diego's Historic Neighborhoods and Architecture
January/February 2024
SOHO is pleased to introduce “Penning the Past: Insights into San Diego's Historic Neighborhoods and Architecture.” This dynamic Zoom lecture series, beginning in February 2024, promises an enriching exploration of San Diego's architectural legacy and historical tapestry, brought to life by esteemed local authors.
Join us in learning about the unique character of San Diego's neighborhoods through the eyes of impassioned writers, starting with Katherine Hon, the well-known author of San Diego’s North Park, on February 10 from 11am to 12 noon. This monthly series, presented every second Saturday from February through November, aims to foster a deeper connection to our communities and an enduring appreciation for San Diego's architectural and cultural heritage.
We hope this program provides attendees with a better understanding of our city's architectural and cultural past and cultivates appreciation for the rich heritage that defines San Diego’s historic places and neighborhoods.
The series is free for SOHO members, $10 per lecture for non-members. Your participation supports SOHO’s mission of education and advocacy to preserve the historic architecture, sites, and cultural landscapes that surround us and add meaning to our daily lives.
Stay tuned for details on upcoming “Penning the Past” lectures with a diverse, enlightening lineup of authors this spring and summer. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of a community-driven exploration into the vibrant soul of San Diego. Registration opens on Tuesday, January 16.
