Pierre Bovet Adobe

Pierre Bovet AdobeThe 1854 Pierre Bovet Adobe was built during the transition between Mexican and American Periods by a Swiss immigrant who was Old Town's first baker. Located in Carroll Canyon, in the far southeastern section of Sorrento Valley, the City-owned park property has been severely encroached upon by Caltrans off-ramps, roadways and embankments. The adobe ruins and its surrounding riparian habitat, which includes a stand of gorgeous native California oak and sycamore trees, and an old cattle tunnel, are being destroyed due to neglect. To prevent this important historic and archeological site from vanishing, it is imperative that a new, sturdy fence is erected for its protection, and that interpretive signage and an access path are created to allow for public viewing and enjoyment.
