Osteospermum fruticosum
FREEWAY DAISY
Asteraceae family
South Africa
Osteospermum fruticosum known as the freeway daisy or trailing African daisy is a woody ground cover perennial plant native to South Africa and has been used worldwide for erosion control, street enhancement, and in cultivation to bring color to gardens. However, this semi-succulent plant is considered a weed in many warmer climates around the world as it spreads relatively quickly, if uncontrolled. The trailing African daisy does produce a beautiful flower of varying colors and is drought tolerant withstanding dry periods well.
