Janet Richards
Keeper of the FlameJanet Richards has preserved the legacy of one of San Diego's most important master architects, Sim Bruce Richards. She has been an ambassador for the modernism movement, sharing her home and her
wisdom to all who seek it. Through her efforts she has been a catalyst for preservation and education, accessible to homeowners as well as local scholars who research and write about Sim Bruce Richards' philosophy, art and architecture.
For the preservation of the Sim Bruce Richard's archives, for the exceptional maintenance of her residence and studio as a tangible legacy of this great modern master architect, and for her significant role in increasing the knowledge and appreciation of his work, SOHO honors Mrs. Janet Richards with the Keeper of the Flame Award.
