Celebrate the birthday of a much beloved pioneer horticulturist and one of the persons most responsible for turning Balboa Park into an urban oasis. Kate Sessions would be 154 years old this year and that calls for a party in her honor!
The first 50 guests will receive a free Floral Association tote bag with goodies inside!
- Birthday Cake and lemonade!
- A brief history of Sessions' life and her efforts to plant trees in Balboa Park
- A special tour of the urban forest around the Marston House with Fausto Palafox
- Talk and walk to the Kate Sessions statue with Ranger Kim Duclo
- Discount tours of the historic Marston House and gardens
- The Geranium Project will have the ever popular Kate Sessions Geranium for sale
