S. Kathleen Flanigan Preservation Revolving Fund
Since 1969, Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO) has been San Diego's strongest advocate for historic preservation. Through education and advocacy, SOHO's goal is to preserve those resources of historical and architectural importance to San Diego that contribute to our region's identity. SOHO has been instrumental in saving many significant San Diego landmarks, such as Villa Montezuma, the buildings at Heritage Park, and the Sante Fe Depot, to name a few.
Despite many victories, however, every year we still witness the loss of more historic buildings, houses and other resources. This is due sometimes to neglect, but more often because of economic pressure to demolish for new development. For this reason, SOHO has established a Preservation Revolving Fund. The fund will allow SOHO to purchase endangered properties, stabilize the properties, place restrictive covenants on them to prevent destruction, and re-sell the properties to sympathetic buyers. The proceeds will be placed back in the fund for use to save the next building. SOHO needs your support to make the Preservation Revolving Fund a success.
