3917 Alameda Drive in Mission Hills is a unique Prairie style home that features Indian and Oriental revival details, such as the central octagonal tower. Constructed in 1917 by Master Builder, Martin V. Melhorn of the Alberta Security Company, this designation falls under criteria C and D, for embodiment of the Prairie style and as a notable example of a master builder. |

1429 Dale Street in Greater Golden Hill is an Arts & Crafts era home constructed in 1916 by another master builder, Alexander Schreiber. Included in this designation are the interior wood moulding, trim detail, and built-in buffet. Designated under both criteria C and D, this house exhibits characteristics consistent with the Craftsman period and, as the oldest Schreiber resource now on the local register, this house also represents superior design and craftsmanship in the early career of this master builder. |

1809 West Montecito Way in Mission Hills was constructed in 1914 by a third master builder, Nathan Rigdon. Representing the Craftsman era, this house features a low-pitch gable with deep eaves and decorative brackets. This house is also designated under criteria C and D, for representing the Arts & Crafts period and as an excellent resource designed by the Master Builder early in his career. |
