A Christmas Carol Like You've Never Seen It Before
Acclaimed Solo Actor Returns to Whaley House December 10, 2017
By Ann Jarmusch

Dickens, portrayed by Travis Rhett Wilson If you saw Travis Rhett Wilson perform his one-man Edgar Allan Poe show at the Whaley House in October, then you're probably already reaching for the link below to buy tickets for A Christmas Carol. After the acclaimed actor hauntingly inhabited Poe and the audience also toured the Whaley House, enthusiastic buzz swirled around outside on San Diego Avenue for Wilson and the historic home, as SOHO perhaps reached new supporters in a unique way.

Wilson returns December 10 for two performances December 10 at 6pm and 8:30pm, when he'll portray not only author Charles Dickens, but the entire cast of the classic A Christmas Carol. Dickens was known for giving solo readings of his work and Wilson does that and much more. He enacts the renowned story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who learns the true meaning of Christmas with the help of a trio of world-famous ghosts.

Wilson will transport you back to Dickens's 19th-century in the perfect setting: the Whaley House's intimate, 40-seat theater, San Diego's first commercial stage, which dates to 1868. Don't miss this outstanding performance that will probably give you shivers in the haunted Whaley House.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased online HERE or at the Whaley House Museum Shop in the historic Verna House, next to the Whaley House at 2476 San Diego Avenue in Old Town San Diego.
