Get Ready for Chills and Thrills at PoeFest
By Robin Lakin
September/October 2019

Write Out Loud, a San Diego non-profit group devoted to reading and dramatizing stories for a live audience, and SOHO want to rattle your teeth and shake your bones during the second annual PoeFest at the Adobe Chapel in Old Town San Diego. PoeFest celebrates the "Poevacative," ghostly, and mesmerizing works by Edgar Allen Poe, master of the macabre, in an appropriately eerie candlelight setting.

Along with Write Out Loud's unique storytelling of Poe's renowned classics, witness Poe himself brought back to life in The Black Cat, starring the hauntingly effective Travis Rhett Wilson. This program is guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.

Two performances will be staged on the Friday and Saturday nights of October 11 and 12, 18 and 19, 25 and 26 at 7pm and 8:30pm. Please note: The historic Adobe Chapel, 3963 Conde Street, San Diego, is not wheelchair accessible.

These memorable performances sold out last year, so get your tickets now! Buy tickets and find specific program information HERE and search for PoeFest.
