Casa de Carrillo
This venerable 1817 house is the oldest structure of any sort outside the mission walls. It is the oldest surviving house in San Diego, and it is shamefully being used as a clubhouse for the pitch-and-putt golf course in Old Town. Its woodwork is infested with termites and its fragile adobe walls are deteriorating from improper repairs. It is yet another endangered property belonging to the City of San Diego, and is only indifferently maintained under city contract by its golf course tenant.
