Board of Directors

John Eisenhart grew up in Royal Oak, Michigan, a few miles north of Detroit. He received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. In addition to his involvement with SOHO, John is active in community organizations such as the Uptown Partnership: Board of Directors, and was formerly with the City of San Diego's Historical Resources Board 2006-2008.

Having traveled, lived and worked various cities in the Western United States John has a unique perspective on urban planning and architectural landscapes. His influence in cultural resource studies was the author and grandfather of Landscape Studies in the United States, J.B. Jackson. Having met Mr. Jackson in 1987 in New Mexico, John approached preservation architecture and planning solutions as deriving from an understanding of deeper cultural, social and historical issues. The city of San Diego is his home. John believes the city is truly one of the great cities of the world and wishes to be a public steward for the preservation and creation of life-sustaining environments.
